After technical training in ceramics at the Auguste Renoir school in Paris, she specialized at the ENSAAD (Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Appliqués, Duperré - Paris 3e) , and graduating in 1989 with a 'Diplôme des Métiers d'Arts'.
From 1989 on, she developed her technical knowledge by working as a porcelain decorator, first with Laure Japy, then at [La Porcelaine de Paris] and then, from 1991 to 1996, at [La Bellevilloise]. She also gave porcelain and ceramics decoration classes at the latter workshop until it closed: she had been teaching at the [Cercle des Arts Plastiques de la Garenne Colombes] (in the western suburbs) since 1987.
1996, a critical year...
In 1996, Karine met Catherine Giobellina, a ceramist. Their activities were complementary, so they worked together for a year, one making pieces and the other painting them. At the same time, Karine was also able to keep up her porcelain decoration classes. |

1998, she takes the plunge...
In 1998, Karine set up her own workshop in Versailles.
Since then, she has had three main activities:
- porcelain decoration for other designers : she produces their models
- creating, producing and improving her own models
- porcelain painting and decorating classses
At present, she is still working on her own collections. You can discover them on this site, or on Karine Gallot's stand at the next exhibition. |
